Anyone who has ever sustained a serious injury knows exactly how debilitating it can be. Serious injuries often cause you to have pain, weakness, frustration, along with the constant fear of aggravating your injury- sadly these feelings may become apart of daily life. Conditions such as frozen shoulder can bring that same lingering stiffness and loss of motion into everyday life.
Luckily we have good news! There is now a non-traditional modality that has been really showing promise in helping to alleviate pain. Here at Jennifer Klein Physical therapy we use taping as an adjunct to many treatments plans that our patients may receive. That includes overuse conditions like golfer’s elbow, where taping can support the tendon while it’s loaded through rehab. Taping is also said to help reduce inflammation when applied correctly it will lift the skin and allow better lymph drainage. We also use taping as part of a tennis elbow treatment plan, giving the tendon extra support while it rebuilds strength. It’s one of the adjunct tools we may work into a broader care plan for conditions such as degenerative disc disease, where managing inflammation is part of the overall treatment approach.
